One year on (or is it 12?!)

Happy anniversary us! Thanks to those lovely buddies who contacted us for our 1st (12th) anniversary! Wow, so touched! :o)

We had a lovely night in at our new place where we cooked up a bit of a feast for two - salmon poached in red wine and fish stock, finished on the bbq (ala Choo) and quails seasoned with butter, bay leaves, salt and pepper, wrapped and bbq-roasted (Margi-style). YUM!

We kicked back and relaxed - it's been a hectic start to the year 2007 and looks like maintaining the momentum for some time yet!

Choo noticed that we've been together for a full cycle of the Chinese calendar - how cool is that?!

Hello-deo from us!

Oh my goodness--pressies!!!

Wow! You wouldn't believe it, we had such a pile of 'boxes' waiting for us on our return to Canberra!

Thank you sooo much to you all: opening pressies took us back to our wedding day and we relished it all over again. It was lovely to read your notes and thoughts with each gift. You are all very special to us! :o)

Thanks also to those of you who donated to the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre - every little bit helps them out.

We've been so flat out since getting back that we've had very little time to thank you all individually - a thousand apologies! We will be getting in touch with you in the coming weeks, now that things seem to be slowing down (touch wood)...

Take care and a big hello to everyone! xxx ooo

Thanks to Jacs for these ones of the guys on the morning of the wedding, these are great photos!

It's been non-stop since getting back to Canberra

We spent the weekend up in the Blue Mountains with Dee and Tom (the Irish travellers whom you may have met at our wedding...).

What a gorgeous place! We spent the whole of Saturday walking around the mountains overshadowed by the three sisters! It was a lovely day too, not too warm and the wind wasn't so strong that it cut through you! (Apparently it is known to do that up there!)

We also tried out the new-ish Skyway, which is basically a cable car stung over the Falls between Echo Point and the opposite cliff where you take the cable car or railway (we did both in the afternoon - highly recommend the railway going down! Weeeeeeeeee!).

We stayed in Wentworth Falls at some very cute mudbrick cottages - Bunjaree Cottages - which are run on solar power and use rain water. There are four, two of which are for a couple. We stayed at Waratah which has 2 doubles and a bunk. We had the slow combustion going the wholoe weekend, more for the craic than anything else - it wasn't all that cold really.

We treated Dee and Tom to a meal of marinated kangaroo steaks - hmmmm! Cooked on a grill hotplate and served with mashed sweet potato, roast pumpkin and stir-fried bok choy in oyster sauce! A bit of Aussie fusion that we all know and love!

Goodbye to the Irish cousins, and to Tom and Ann who paid us a quick visit to Canberra just the other night, as they head back overseas (via Melbourne and NZ/USA respectively!). Our wedding had an extra-special touch with you there. Thank you from the depths of our boots!

A beautiful bunch of people!

Two rings...

Well, here we are...married!!!

More photos to come, but here's a sneak preview for those of you who simply can't wait!! ;o)

A big thankyou to everyone who helped us make it a day to remember. There was singing, there was dancing, there was feasting, there was drinking and there was plenty of love in the house ... and doesn't Margi look sensational! (I reckon we both do!!--M)

After a few days winding down and saying our hellos and goodbyes to those who travelled from pockets around the globe and the country, we are in Perth waiting for our flight back to Canberra and some semblance of normality (although happy to stay on cloud nine for a while longer).

The reams/cds full of photos have started to filter back to us from various cameras and we have just dropped off the "old school" film rolls to be processed, so we will have plenty of pics to go through. We will start blogging the "best of" series once we get back to Canberra.

Anyway, ciao ... for now!

The Hen's Do goes to town...!

So of course we had to do the Hen's thing! And Perth not only turned on the weather for us on Wednesday night (before the wedding), but EVERYONE turned out for a wine, a meal and a cocktail or two!

There's a slideshow of the pics here (NOTE: you will need to login to Flickr and request friend or family access).

Aren't we a beautiful bunch? I reckon so! :o)

Thanks lovely ladies, I had great fun and it was fab to catch up with you all!

(Dinner was at the Brisbane Hotel, Beaufort St...highly recommended!)

Only 8 Sleeps to go!!!!

We're jumping on the plane to Perth tonight! Yay! Can't wait!

I'm buzzing a bit from the last minute stuff, which is going well and simon has been super-organised (keeping a straight head while I buzz about like a horse-fly!?)

Murphy's law though, about to leave a two of our Bala sharks in our aquarium decide to get sick...if they wanted us to stay they could have just said so! One of the Clown Loaches, Bess, is also a bit poorly. I hope they all pull through! popped some antibiotic into their tank, so hope that'll clear things up for them....

Finalised our beer order too - staying local and getting 20 cartons from Manjimup! Hope you guys like Little Creatures Pale Ale and Rogers (mid-strength) and the ever-favourite Sing beer, Tiger! Tiger-roar! :o)

See you all soon!!! Dum-dum-dee-dummmm......!
